244100_037: "NASW-LA Lake Charles Region Sponsored Workshop" FREE for Members. Topic:  Social Work in a Religious Context: Couple's Satisfaction in Focus. Presented by: Dr. Ilya(Elijah) Okhotnikov, Phd, DMin and Certified Family Life Educator.  During this meeting participants will:   1. Introduce Family Ecological and Family Systems Theory - providing a foundational understanding of couple satisfaction, 2. Examine the role of religion in Couple Satisfaction within Louisiana - understanding the impact of religiosity among people, 3.Present research findings on the implications of religiosity and relational virtues, 4. Engage participants in exchange of ideas regarding the integration of religious context in social work practice.   1.50 General hours.  Pre-registration is required to be awarded CEU credit.


Presenter Bio


Dr. Elijah is currently a Professor at McNeese State University in the Department of Social Sciences. He is a Certified Family Life Educator. He coordinated the development of the Family Science Program at MSU. He holds a degree in Sociology and has completed research in various interest such as family diversity, military and religious families, family diversity, etc.
