A Social Work Approach to Treating Chronic Pain as a Team.  Chronic low back pain is one of the most common health problems among Americans, resulting in high healthcare utilization.  Adults in the United States who have low back pain are more likely to be of lower SES and unemployed. Treating chronic pain from a multidisciplinary approach can help both the physical and mental health impacts of chronic pain.
