1908: Avoiding Burnout: Exhibiting Ethical Self Care
1908: Feb 1, 2019; 1:15 pm - 4:30 pm. Registration begins at 1:00 pm. (New Orleans). Avoiding Burnout: Exhibiting Ethical Self Care. Presented by Lisa Donze Jacob, LCSW. Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services,Benson Tower, 1450 Poydras Street, 7th Floor, New Orleans, LA 70112. This seminar will provide information regarding what is commonly referred to as “Burnout” in the Field of Social Work. Participants will gain information regarding the definition of burnout and how it differs from Vicarious Trauma, Secondary Trauma, and Compassion Fatigue. Participants will learn the signs to look for in themselves and in colleagues. Burnout will be examined in terms of the Social Work Code of Ethics. Participants will acquire resources and practical strategies to prevent and /or ameliorate Burnout on an individual as well as organizational level. 3.0 Ethical hours. Pre-registration deadline is 1/25/19. Limited to 40 participants.
