1970: June 14, 2019; 12:45 pm - 4:00 pm. Registration begins at 12:15 pm. (Houma). The Parent Trap: Divorce Issues and Ethics for Child Therapists. Presented by Leslie Todd, LCSW, ACSW. Terrebonne General Hospital, Medical Atrium Auditorium, 8120 Main St., Houma, LA 70360. Child therapists cannot afford to think they will avoid engaging with Family Court - modern families are constantly being recreated through legal channels. We’ll cover best standards of practice and risk management for high-conflict child therapy cases. One hour will be devoted to each of the following topic: 1) explicit policy, procedure and consent forms for not-married parents; 2) Proper data collection and documentation to avoid bias; 3) handling subpoenas and court testimony. 3.0 General hours. Pre-registration deadline is 6/7/19. Limited to 75 participants.
