2206: Assisting Families with Children “On the Spectrum”. Families and guardians of children diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder face many challenges. The intention of this workshop is to provide social workers with valuable, practical information when working with families and guardians of children diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, primarily ASD1 or ASD2. Social Workers will be equipped to share important Autistic Spectrum Disorder information with caregivers related to the assessment and diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder, appropriate parenting and disciplining youth with ASD, and community psychoeducational information.
