Presented by:  Meghan Goldbeck.   This presentation will include:  Scope of Problem: The latest data on suicide in the US and worldwide. Research: Information from research on what causes people to consider suicide, as well as, health, historical, and environmental factors that put individuals at risk. Prevention: An understanding of the protective factors that lower suicide risk, and strategies to managing mental health and being proactive about self-care. What You Can Do: Guidance on warning signs and behaviors to look fo and how to get help for someone in a suicidal crisis..  2.0 Clinical hours.  Pre-registration is required to be awarded CEU credit.

On-Site Registration will be available at the event venue from 4:30pm - 5:10pm.


Presenter Bio

Meghan Goldbeck is the Executive Director of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's Louisiana and Mississippi Chapters. Meghan has had a career in the nonprofit sector for over a decade and is a strong advocate for mental health and suicide prevention in her community. She received a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and is currently working on obtaining a master's degree in Nonprofit Administration from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. She is certified in Mental Health First Aid and safeTALK.
