Presenter Bio
Justin T. Guy is a native of Baton Rouge, LA. He graduated from Southern University and A&M College in 2011, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology. In 2015, Justin obtained his master’s degree in social work from Louisiana State University and A&M College. He became a licensed clinical social worker in 2018 and began working for Louisiana Healthcare Connections as a behavioral health case manager, later becoming a board-approved clinical supervisor. During his time at LHCC, Justin was promoted to Supervisor in Care Management, where he humbly serves his team of social workers and nurses who manage care for Medicaid recipients in regions 6, 7, and 8 of Louisiana. He also sits on the DEI Board governed by LHCC. Justin was selected by Centene Corporation to be a part of the 17th cohort of the St. Louis Business Diversity Initiative Fellowship and graduated from their leadership program that solely focused on minority leaders promoting servant leadership, civic engagement, and relationship building. Currently, Justin is a doctoral candidate in Tulane University’s Doctor of Social Work program, where his research focuses on health equity, social determinants of health, and adverse childhood experiences. He is also employed by Tulane University as a Project Assistant, overseeing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion programming. He is the DSW and EDI representative for Tulane’s Student Government Association. Justin aspires to deliver effective, efficient, genuine care to the community to meet their dire needs. Justin enjoys writing, and he is the author of a poetry devotional book entitled “Divine Expressions by the Grace of God.” He also enjoys traveling, self-care activities, and spending quality time with his family and close friends.
