2026: Clinical Applications of Polyvagal Theory in Social W
2026: April 3, 2020; 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. Registration begins at 8:15 am. (New Orleans). Clinical Applications of Polyvagal Theory in Social Work Practice. Presented by Teri Groves, LCSW, ACSW, BCD. Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services, Benson Tower, 1450 Poydras Street, 7th Floor, New Orleans, LA 70112. Research in the fields of neuroscience, traumatic stress and spectrum disorders has revealed the significant role that the autonomic nervous system plays in understanding and treating a variety of mental and physical health challenges for people of all ages. This presentation serves to provide a practical understanding of the autonomic nervous system through the lens of polyvagal theory, as well as to explore and offer a number of therapeutic applications and interventions that are suitable to use in any therapeutic modality for clients of all ages. 6.0 Clinical hours. Pre-registration deadline is 3/27/20. Limited to 40 participants.
