2205: Ethical Integrity in a Changing World

2205:  Ethical Integrity in a Changing World.  Changes within the culture have been astronomical, and not even the DSM-5 offers clear-cut responses to these changes that may influence diagnosis and treatment. Professional moral standards may not change; however, ethical decisions often present mental health providers with a complex set of issues that require well-founded decision-making skills. A survey of mental health providers reveals disparity on a variety of topics. This presentation will take an in-depth look at personal and professional integrity and ethical integrity within agencies. It will cover professional standards related to cultural diversity, nondiscriminatory practices, and philosophical and moral development issues for consideration when addressing gray zones of ethical challenges. It will also provide review and assimilate decision-making models Social Workers can use when serving clients with varied worldviews.  Presented by:  Jack Perkins, D.
