2210: Stages of Change: A Model to Help Clients Make & Maintain Progress. This presentation will discuss the Stages of Change Model as a tool to use in therapy with clients struggling to make or maintain changes in behavior. The Stages of Change Model will be presented as a guide for Social Workers to use during therapy. In this workshop, participants will learn action steps to meet the client and help them achieve their goals. It will explore how the Stages of Change Model can allow clients to remain in control. Attendees will learn about pre-lapse behaviors and how to identify them, the role of relapse as part of change, and ways to help address the shame that often accompanies relapse behaviors.
