New Orleans Region - Understanding the Outcomes for Families

254100_006: "NASW-LA New Orleans Region Sponsored Workshop" FREE for Members. Topic:  Understanding the Outcomes for Families When Pregnancy and Parenting are Impacted by Addiction.   Presented by: Lori Arceneaux, LCSW-BACS.  The purpose of  this workshop is to help participants : 1. To gain an understanding of unplanned pregnancies particularly while engaged in substance abuse.  2. To gain an understanding of the widespread use of illegal substances during pregnancy.  3. To gain an understanding of the short-term and long-term outcomes for children born after exposure to drugs in utero.  4. To gain an understanding of the services available for pregnant women and parenting mothers dealing with substance abuse, especially from the Family Focused Recovery Model.  2.00 Clinical hours.  Pre-registration is required to be awarded CEU credit.

Presenter Bio

Lori Arceneaux is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor. She has served as the Program Manager of the Adoption Services of Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana for nearly 20 years. Lori completed a Post-Graduate Certificate Program in Adoption Competency with Louisiana State University. She provides counseling and assistance for all members of the adoption triad. Lori also provides counseling to children, teens and families facing a variety of stressors through the agency's Lakeshore Counseling Program. Lori serves as an adjunct professor at the Millie Charles School of Social Work at Southern University of New Orleans.
